FAQ

What is the best zone order in CONTROL Resonant?
Downtown, then Central, then the Evacuation Zone, then the West Incursion Zone, then the Underpass, then The Unknown — with The Park optional. That's PowerPyx's recommended route, and it tracks the story's hard gates rather than fighting them.
Can you do zones in any order in CONTROL Resonant?
Partly. Quests can be tackled in varying order, but several missions hard-require zone progress first — Enemy of My Enemy needs the Central and West Incursion Zone Resonants, and the West Incursion Resonant itself needs the Incursion Fault done. When objectives run out, the game wants you on another main quest or a Resonant fight.
Is The Park required in CONTROL Resonant?
No. PowerPyx marks The Park as the optional zone on the route — but it holds its own Resonant, so skipping it means skipping that boss, its ability and its trophy.

What is the best zone order in CONTROL Resonant?

Downtown → Central → Evacuation Zone → West Incursion Zone → Underpass → The Unknown, with The Park optional. That is PowerPyx’s recommended route, and it agrees with the consensus across launch coverage: after you beat The Artist and reach Zoe’s Watchtower, don’t wander randomly (control-resonant.com’s “what to do first” advice) — follow the story’s own geography. The opening missions run Downtown (Orientation, Welcome to Manhattan), then the game spreads into Manhattan’s zones and the route above takes over.

Why this order works

Every hop on that route is doing something the story gates require anyway:

  • Central after Downtown — Arish’s Briefing and Power Lines run here, and fast travel unlocks as you start exploring Central after The Artist
  • Evacuation Zone third — Evacuation Procedures, Into the Sinkhole and the Subway Fault all live here; the Subway Fault is a mid-mission requirement of Recursions and Iterations
  • West Incursion Zone after the Incursion Fault — the fault must be cleared before its Resonant, the Dancer, can be fought at all
  • Enemy of My Enemy wants two Resonants — the Central and West Incursion Zone Resonants both have to fall before that mission opens
  • The Unknown is gated twice — Sever the Hedron Links requires the Pope’s Research side quest just to enter the zone

Fight the full Resonant roster on the bosses page; the mission-by-mission spine is on the walkthrough page.

How should you work each zone?

Launch coverage lands on the same working habit: concentrate on one zone at a time. Zone-level progression advice (via SportsRant) is to focus activities in a single area and treat World Feats as the priority — they feed the Zone Levels that pay out points for the best talents. Clear the zone’s missions, its Jesse Sightings fault if it has one, its Resonant, then move on. Unlocking fast travel doors as you scout costs seconds and pays for itself the moment a mission sends you back across the map.

What about The Park?

Optional — the one zone the main line never forces through. Its Resonant is real, though: skipping The Park means one fewer boss, one fewer ability, one fewer trophy on the Platinum road. The zone also carries side stories the main line never touches, from Zoe’s Briefing to the Underhill quest. The natural slot is after the Underpass, when your kit is built and the remaining story is the Hedron endgame — the timing context is in how long to beat.
