CONTROL Resonant Pre Order Bonus: What Pre-Order Buyers Received
The CONTROL Resonant pre-order bonus was the Classic Brown suit Reflective Claws a Technique Point and PSN avatars. Here is what each edition's buyers received.
What did pre-order buyers get?
Pre-order perks were cosmetic and progression-head-start items, not gated story content. Per Best Buy’s listing, every pre-order included an early unlock of the Classic Brown suit, an early unlock of the Reflective Claws outfit, and one Technique Point to spend on an early skill. PlayStation players additionally received four avatars for their PSN profile.
None of these are missable forever — Remedy has historically folded pre-order cosmetics into later availability — but if you want the outfits from minute one, pre-ordering is currently the only route.
How much does each edition cost?
Three editions are on sale as pre-orders went live, tracked across IGN and GameSpot’s roundups:
| Edition | Price | Type | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $59.99 | Digital | Base game + pre-order items |
| Digital Deluxe | $69.99 | Digital | Base game + digital extras (Seawave mission per Remedy) + pre-order items + 48h early access on PS5 (from September 22, per PlayStation.Blog) |
| Steelbook | $69.99 | Physical | Steel case, art prints, key — physical collectibles instead of the Deluxe extras |
The Digital Deluxe’s headline extras are the bonus Seawave mission — named in Remedy’s official announcement post — and, on PlayStation, 48-hour early access starting September 22, 2026. Early access on other platforms is not confirmed; treat it as a PS5 Deluxe perk until Remedy says otherwise. The Steelbook Edition trades those digital goods for the physical case and prints at the same price.
Do physical pre-orders get the same bonuses?
This is the one genuinely murky corner. A r/controlgame thread covering the pre-order window flags confusion over whether the Steelbook’s physical copy includes the digital pre-order items, and retailer listings do not spell it out uniformly. Treat it as unverified for your specific store: check the fine print on the listing you are buying from, or ask the retailer directly before committing.
The window is closed — what now?
The pre-order era ended with the September 24 launch: bonuses were delivered at launch (outfits unlocked in-game, the Technique Point on the progression screen), and the buying picture since is plain — Standard at $59.99 buys the full game, the physical Steelbook shelves October 15, and the only free-copy channel left is the NVIDIA RTX 50 bundle for holders of already-issued codes. If you missed the bonuses, nothing gameplay-critical was lost — the suits and avatars are cosmetic, and one Technique Point is a rounding error against the tree. The PS5 edition page carries the PlayStation specifics.
